Roxy and Memo came all the way from the US to elope, just the two of them, with the magical view, that Santorini offers, before them. They wanted it to be perfect, romantic, full of love and happiness. And so it was...They had their intimate wedding, exchanging their vows at a beautiful spot of Skaros at Imerovigli, leaving the rest of the world outside.
Roxy and Memo, may you always be as happy and in love as we met you.
Their story at their own words:
" I was born in Reno Nevada and my husband in Guadalajara Mexico. We met in Nevada where we both now live. We met through my parents, were a couple for 3 years had a long engagement of 2 years. And when we finally decided to tie the knot we thought a destination wedding was right for us. I lost my dad the year before we got engaged and couldn't imagine a "normal" wedding without him. So when talking to my husband we thought a very private wedding was a great choice for us. But our families are so very close with us so we knew we would have to go somewhere. We talked about Italy then Spain. Then one day we thought Greece! We had heard and seen so many romantic, beautiful things about it, yet didn't know very many people who had traveled there. We started to research and of course Santorini island was a must. It was small and quaint. GORGEOUS! And just what we needed. We did all our searching and planning online. Once our trip dates and locations were booked we began the search for the most important part of our wedding: who would capture our memories.
We seared through tons of photographer/videographers and no one stuck out like Studio Phosart. After multiple emails we went ahead and booked with George. As the wedding got closer I received an email notifying me that Joan would be our photographer and Chris our videographer. We were so nervous being that we had never met the Phosart team. Joan was so helpful in telling what town to stay so it made booking the hotel and the wedding as smooth as possible.
We arrived in Santorini after 2 busy touristic days in Athens. We had the hardest time finding our little villa but after a small melt down and an hour later we found it! The beautiful Aisling Micro Hotel in the little town Imerovigli. It was so impossible due to the fact it was new and only 1 villa. But so worth the struggle. John, the manager was absolutely amazing. Breakfast was brought to our patio overlooking the amazing Mediterranean every morning. It was so indescribable. Words could not explain how romantic and perfect it truly was.
We met with Joan our second day to go over all the details. I was so nervous but the minute we met she made us feel very comfortable. We had our wedding just 2 days later. Joan was the master behind it all. She picked the location and had the vision. All we did was share our love. We truly enjoyed every second of our wedding day. We got up, went to Oia, rode the donkies, which was an experience in itself. We got back to the hotel, I began to get ready while my husband took a nap. Joan and Chris arrived about an hour later and the fun began. I'll spare the small details. In a nutshell Joan and Chris were the missing puzzle piece to make our wedding so very amazing. We never laughed and loved as hard as we did that day.
Joan and Chris made us feel as if we were family. We were so comfortable in front of them. We told them and still mean it to this day we love them and our home in the US is always open to them. We are forever grateful for Santorini and the Phosart team.
We love and miss you all and hope to see you soon
